I am a patient care tech and I have recently discovered that I need to attend a class for blood withdrawal. I am curious if anyone knows of a fast program that is offered for this. The hospital sends the staff to a two-day course, but it doesn't work at all with my clinical schedule for nursing school. The soonest I would be able to get in to the class would be in December, which is not helpful for my department! :uhoh21:

Phlebotomy courses are usually customized by each employer so that they can include training on their specific policies & procedures. If you can find a generic training class, it may not meet their needs. If you're in nursing school, can you take a look at the curriculum (for the phleb course) and see if any of the content has already been covered in your nursing classes? If so, you may be able to negotiate to attend only part of the class and "clep" the other parts -- just a thought.
