I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.

Hmmm....I haven't received any emails yet.

Specializes in Hoping to do either L&D or Trauma.

I got one from Ms. M yesterday to remind us of skills makeup Friday but that is it.

Class,

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!!!!

I hope you are all as excited as I am to start the semester. The semester will be fast-paced however; I hope that you will find it exciting as well.

There was an error on the letter that you received regarding the first day of class. Please read page 27 in your CID for information regarding preparation for the first day of class. You will read chapter 5 infection control. You are also responsible for all of the handouts, Hawknurse Videos, and reading assignments locater in each class section in your CID. Do not worry about the Module assignment for this week until you are set up with an account. This should happen sometime in the next week. Each week during class we will go over a large amount of information so please be prepared for class. This will help to ensure your success with the class. In addition, you will notice on page 28 of your CID the supplies needed for the first class are listed. Please bring the listed supplies so that you can participate during class. You will find a supply list for each class in your CID. If additional supplies are needed I will email you. Please bring your CID to every class. You do not need to bring the class text to class.

I understand that this is all overwhelming. If you have any questions concerning any of this information please contact me. Again, welcome and I can’t wait to meet you.

Sincerely,

Lea Stevens

i got an email from professor B. she told us what we needed to bring to skills in the first day and that there were documents on the shared files that we need to view for the first day of class. I went mostly by the CID and acceptance information packet we got as far as for reading and the youtube videos we need to watch. But my first day of class is skills, Tu @ 9am.

Im sure everyone will get an email soon, i got mine yesterday morning.

As far as the case studies, i thought we bought those at the bookstore, no?

I'm going to *assume* that these will be professor-specific and that's why I haven't received one. I know she's not one of my instructors so I'll wait and see if they send anything. :-)

Yeah. I wouldn't worry about it too much guys. Its the same stuff that's in the information packet and CID.

She clearly stated that it has been an error on the letter regarding the first day of class. In addition we need to read from page 29-34 of the CID, that's new to me. If it was the same thing that was in the CID she wouldn't have sent two emails.

Well we are supposed to read the entire CID before class begins anyway.

And you have a different instructor than I do. So I'm pretty sure its instructor specific. That's what I told everyone to not worry cause they will probably get an email of some sort. If not just go by the information. Being prepared for something is better than not being prepared at all.

Done with my CPR ready to begin now...

You are absolutely right! That's why I shared it so we all can be prepared. I didn't think of different instructor doing things differently, which will obviously make a difference on whether or not we get the same emails.

hey guys! for any one waiting for FA to hit the bank, i got an email, it said it should be there in two business days!:yeah:

looks like ill be going to scrubs etc after all!!:lol2:

---and i know for clinicals, they said to meet in the lobby of on the third floor of the nursing building. i got an email from my instructor today and she said to meet on the third floor of TRHN.. anyone else get that? i dont want it to be like CPR and we all meet there and its supposed to be in TRHA, haha!

I have a question about the HESI Case Studies thing. Is that an actual book or an online access thing? I seemed to remember that it was one of those online things we were going to sign up for at school and they said we could pay for it at that time if we wanted. Is that right?

i asked about the HESI case study, its a 2 year online access code, not a book. My apologies if i gave you the wrong information!!
