The starting pay rates have pretty much remained flat during the past four years due to the sluggish economic situation combined with the masses of new grads in the DFW area.

I earned a handsome amount last year but I have no employer-sponsored benefits such as health insurance or retirement. Many teachers retire with fully funded pensions and health insurance. On the other hand, many nurses must work until the day they croak.sweetnurse786 likes this.
