Question about compact license..

So, I renewed my license last month for the first time in Texas.

When I first moved here, my license stated 'valid in texas only".

Now, when you go to the BON website, it says "yes" for compact texas license.

Anybody want to explain this to me?? I dont think I applied for it to be compact, and I know that being compact means I can work in other states without applying for a license there (but only certain states). Am I correct?

I'm really just curious how I now have a compact license when I didnt before.

Thanks!

Was Texas a member of the compact when you first received your license?

I do not hold a license in a compact state, but it is my understanding that anyone licensed in a compact state receives the benefits of a compact license. I don't think it is an "added feature" available to only certain licensees.

That may be the answer I needed then, thanks!

Maybe when I first moved here, it couldnt be compact the first time, but now it is? Who knows..

Thanks!
