Never heard of that test. I am in the DFW area and have interviewed at a great many of the hospitals here. Nobody has ever mentioned this test.

PBDS is an "assessment", not a test. Used by > 600 hospitals in the US> It is an lengthy (multi-part) online assessment. Components include customer service, communication, technical skills & critical thinking... the last part if most important. The CT skills are assessed via a series of 3-5 minute video vignettes. After seeing the video, you have to identify the problem, indicate what you are going to do for the problem, the rationale for your actions, and which things you should do first. All vignettes are things that are commonly found in in that clinical environment.... it is NOT rocket science. ALL responses are free text - no multiple choice, TF or other 'forced choice' responses - and that is what may be scary. Responses are evaluated by an actual human being.

The results are used to develop a customized orientation program - so that the focus is on improving gaps rather than wasting time on areas in which you have already achieved competency. It is NEVER used as a pre-employment 'weeding out' tool.

PBDS does not publicize the list of their clients. The travel agencies have (illegally) violated copyright laws by developing and publishing "cheat sheets" with assessment content. Despite this, their nurses continue to have a very low "acceptable" rating... hmm, what does this indicate?

Thank you very much for your reply HouTx Guide. Do you have idea if CHRISTUS system currently uses PBDS for new hires?

Yes - I believe that they do.
