New RN in ATX w/ salary ?
- 0Jan 18, '11 by Trixy613Hello all-
I'm searching for advice. I graduate from RN school in May and last Friday I went to and urgent care/family practice here in Austin to be treated for allergies. The nurse I had was so nice and when I told her I was graduating soon she went and found the hiring manager. I've had two interviews and I think it went really well. I'm suppost to get a call today. My problem is that I have NO idea how much salary is typical for a nurse starting out in this kind of facility. I will be the only RN working and have 3 medical assistants below me. Any advice would be helpful. I want to be reasonable but not get low balled since I'm new.
Thanks in advance!

So if the average new grad RN will be started off at around $22 in an Austin hospital, expect to be offered between $18 and $21 at the urgent care center.
