Moving to Amarillo for nursing school and need advice

U.S.A. Texas

I will be moving to Amarillo by mid-August to start nursing school. Can anyone recommend any apartments in Amarillo. I am not familiar with the parts of town that I should avoid or stay away from. I initially wanted to be close to Texas Tech, but it seems everything is pretty close so I don't mind not being right next door. I also wanted to know how frequent hail storms occur and if I need to be sure to get a place with covered parking.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Not a local, so I can't answer your specific questions.... just wanted to give you Kudos for your determination. Very few people would consider relocation to the Tx panhandle for school.

Best wishes to you!!!

Thanks so much. I don't mind the Panhandle, I got my first Bachelors from Texas Tech in Lubbock. Amarillo is just 2 hours North. I am stoked that I can get my BSN done in 1 year and not 2.
