MD Anderson Residency

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone,

I received an interview for the MD Anderson Clinical Nurse Residency Program starting hopefully mid-March. I'm incredibly nervous because this is my first call back.

Anybody have any tips on... How the interviews are conducted? How many are interviewed? What units at the hospital are available to work in? And did anybody else get an interview?

Thanks!

If you guys hear anything please keep us posted

I applied on monday(02/11/2013), but got a phone interview 2:10pm this afternoon(02/15/2013). The lady said someone will get back with me if they want to move forward with my application. Anyone got the same response from the nurse recruiter.

Hopefully you will get called to come in next week

Anyone get a call back yet? I had panel interview today & not really sure how it went but gonna keep my fingers crossed.

How do you think you did? anyway I wish you best of luck. Do you know if they are still calling applicants for interview?

Honestly, I couldn't really tell. It wasn't great but wasn't terrible. I wasn't nervous until I got there, lol There were 4 people & they all asked a couple questions but they spent the majority of the time writing & would occasionally look up, smile, & nod as I was talking. I made it this far so I am praying I will get offered a position. Since the job posting is still open I'm sure they are still seeking candidates. There were a few people that interviewed before me & there were 3 more listed after me when I glanced at the list when I checked in to HR. I am pretty sure applicants are still being called for interviews.

Start dates are March 11th & 25th also April 8th & 22nd. I was asked about any areas of interest & shift preference & was told they try to match up preferences if positions are available there. Needs are still being assessed everywhere so they could not give me specific details as to the number of people going to be hired & which units are available.

Thank you very much for the info., it really keeps my hope' alive. I pray you get it.

Thanks! I'm praying I get it to but if it's meant to be it'll be. I would stay persistent in contacting HR. Hope you guys get call backs soon!

I had an interesting experience with this a couple years ago when I was in all of your shoes (except for the summer cohort, not spring). I applied there, but they were dragging their feet with that summer's cohort. By the time they called me for my first interview in April, I was within 2 weeks of having to reply to an offer 1500 miles away. I went through with the interviews, but accepted the other job a couple days later. I got a call from MDA in July (2.5 months after my interview and a couple weeks into my new job) saying that they were interested in hiring me.

It all worked out in the end for me, but MDA really dragged their feet that year. I don't blame them though, there is A LOT to coordinate for all of those units and a bunch of newbie nurses. My head would explode from trying to organize all of it. Maybe I'll come back to TX and work at MDA some day and see that each and every one of you got the jobs you were hoping and praying for.

I have heard similar stories from previous applicants. From what a few current employees have said, the application process is slowly improving. From application submission to receiving an interview appears to be happening in a few days to a few weeks. It's the waiting game after the interviews that seems to take the most time. Everyone keep your fingers crossed & have faith :)
