Looking for students who are applying to Brookhaven in Fall 2012 to start Spring 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Hi there,

I searched for Brookhaven to make sure there wasn't a thread for this but all I found was people that were getting in this fall at Brookhaven. I will be applying this fall to Brookhaven and will hopefully start in the Spring 2013. I'd love to start connecting with other hopefuls so don't hesitate to respond!;)

woo hoo!!! Way to go!! That's great!!!! I set mine up for Friday at 10am. I'd rather wait 10 days than 15 to see if I got in (Nov 26th) :)

Good luck everyone!! I remember being in the same position last march/april!! Dont worry imterviews arent too bad!! Some questions you may hear are how do you handle stress? Why do you want to be a nurse?

Thanks mmaxfield07!! So we find out on the 26th? I thought it was the 30th, but the 26th is even better! I figured I'd just go ahead and get it over with on Monday! I wonder how many applicants there were ?!? Oh well, now to pick out an interview outfit!!

oh! Maybe it is the 30th :/ Well darn, my plan backfired on me! lol! Yes, now to find an outfit!

Specializes in NICU Nurse.

Good luck everyone! I'm rooting for you all and hope you will join the program this coming semester!!

For those of you wanting to go into any type of pediatric care be aware that Brookhaven is not doing clinicals in any of the Children's hospitals. You won't get any real hospital, hands on experience for children. Also only a small amount of students get a preceptorship in the last semester which makes your last semester like your first as you basically follow a nurse around and only do what she allows. Nursing jobs are extremely hard to come by as the field is flooded in the DFW area. Also most hospitals expect a BSN in the metropolitan areas. At least knowing a few of these things will make you less disappointed when you find out when you are in school.

Good Luck to everyone who has an interview today!!! Kick some butt!!!!

Interview...DONE!!! Whew! Wasn't too bad after all! Good luck to the rest of you!

I agree with you spope08, I thought the interview and writting sample were not too bad. But, I am glad to have it over with- now waiting until the 30th will be difficult. Goodluck to everyone I hope to see everyone soon in the Spring:)

What did you guys end up wearing? Just business casual stuff??

Also, where is the interview held? Do we go to the X building to the nursing department? I couldnt find any information on where to go. thank you for the info :)

Childers7, I had alot of the same questions:0 Just go to the nursing dept X1085 and Ms. Baker will come to get you at your interview time. First, you will do the writting sample in the skills lab then you will do the interview with four other candidates and each of you will be asked 2 questions and thats it. Some people wore suits and others business casual- I personally wore business casual- slacks and a layered blouse. Whatever you feel most comfortable in because you will be nervous and may sweat if you have on too much:? Honestly, it wasn't that bad and I am sure you will do great- Goodluck:)
