Anyone applying? Does anyone know if there is a traditional program for kingwood?

The blue card is a card that you will receive in the mail from the BON (board of nursing) showing that you passed the federal background check. You should either bring this card with you to orientation or they will set a date before orientation to turn in all your nursing paperwork. Make sure you watch the mail carefully for this card and not accidentally throw it away with the rest of your junk mail lol. It'll be printed on blue card stock and about the size of a post card. They come at random times due to slow processing (could be before or after acceptance letters are sent) it really just depends on when you do your background check, obviously the earlier the better. I believe most students got their acceptance letters around late September, early October, but sometimes the schools can run a bit slow in sending out the letters....which gets realllly annoying. And they usually send out the acceptance letters first, then the denial letters. Hope some of this helps. :nurse:

Is the background check something we're supposed to set up ourselves? I didn't know this...so now I'm wondering if I'll get a blue card or not. Lol

I'm sure you turned it in. It was the FERPA form that was required to be turned in with applications. You signed giving the school permission to release your information to BON.

Oh, yes I did. I didn't realize that's what that was I guess. Whew! I was thinking I had forgotten to do something!!

Nothing here yet. :( I've been a regular at the mailbox right after he comes! Lol I did speak with someone though that talked to one of the ladies in the office at Kwood who said that letters would go out next week at the latest. So I'm really hoping it's soon!

Today is the last business day of the month....so it is getting closer!

I wonder why there are not more people on this board. There are only a few of us compared to the previous year posts. I hope that is a good sign.

Everyone check your e-mails! I just got my response for the LVN program in Tomball! Don't just check your mailbox since they notify through e-mail as well! :)

I did not know they notified thru email as well. Sadly, my inbox is empty. Congrats to you if you got in.

No, I don't. But I've heard that Quest is harder to get into than the traditional programs because it offers flexibility of sorts that is desirable. I don't know how true that is though.
