LoneStar College Kingwood summer 2012 application period

U.S.A. Texas

Anyone else applying this summer to LoneStar-Kingwood for Jan. start? Just trying to see if I could find anyone in the same boat as me! :)

I apologize if there is already a thread for this...I searched and couldn't find one.

I am applying next week for the online quest transition program, does anyone have any idea what the min point cut offs have been in the past. Im so ready to get in, I am a LVN right now and work as a in home pediatric nurse nights, so its really nice to be able to study I just hope I make it. Also on the Hesi all my scores where excellent except biology I got a 68% do I have to retake the whole Hesi test even though it doesnt really ask for that grade? On the prereqs sheet it says a 75% in EACH section so does that count? I emailed valarie just waiting to hear back.

oakleyelyse22, As long as you scored at least 75% in the Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, Math and Anatomy and Physiology sections you should be fine. I don't believe they look at your Biology score. GOOD LUCK!

I also applied to Chamberlain College of Nursing and was accepted into their Bachelors program!!! I am so excited!!!! I will be starting in January, but if I get accepted into Lonestar too, I wouldn't know which one to choose???

Ok, so for the ranking, they only rank based on certain sections of the HESI called the "English Composite Score" which is an average of reading, grammar and vocabulary. However, you DO have to make at least a 75% on ALL sections, including Math and A&P.

@@ikegrad2002 - A&P and Biology are the same thing.

The link is below. Hope it helps and good luck!

Do you mean you got a 68% on the Anatomy & Physiology portion? If so, then you will have to retake all the sections again until you pass all of them with a 75 or higher.

I believe there is both a Biology and Anatomy & Physiology section on the HESI A2 but only the A&P one is needed.

Oh that's a hard one! What do you really want to do?

CaseyT, YES I KNOW THAT ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY/ BIOLOGY ARE THE SAME BUT THE HESI EXAM HAVE A BIOLOGY SECTION AND A ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY SECTION. BOTH ARE SEPARATE. DON'T KNOW IF YOU REALIZED THAT SINCE WITH LONESTAR WE ONLY HAVE TO TAKE A&P. LONESTAR DOESN'T COUNT THE "BIOLOGY" SECTION, AT LEAST MINE DIDN'T COUNT WITH THEM.
sapadgett, Yes it is a hard one. I still have time to think about it. Chamberlain might be a better choice.

Well good luck in your choice! I would think that a BSN program would be the better choice in the end but then again I know nothing about Chamberlain college. Lol :D

sapadgett, THANKS AND GOOD LUCK 2 U AS WELL!

Turned in my application I didnt have to have a 75 on the biology part thank goodness, it was seperate from A&P, on the a&p part I got a 90. I was so worried. I also turned my packet into North Harris the director said they havn't had that many applications turned in so it might be a good sign. Kingwoods box looked kinda full though.

oakleyelyse22, GOOD JOB ON YOUR HESI! THAT'S A GOOD SCORE! I KNEW THEY WOULDN'T COUNT YOUR BIOLOGY SCORE! GOOD LUCK ON GETTING ACCEPTED!!!
