LoneStar College Kingwood summer 2012 application period

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Anyone else applying this summer to LoneStar-Kingwood for Jan. start? Just trying to see if I could find anyone in the same boat as me! :)

I apologize if there is already a thread for this...I searched and couldn't find one.

I am having the same issues with HESI scores!! I took mine way back in Feb and they aren't showing up. That makes me feel better that I'm not the only one having issues...I've had a huge knot in my stomach about it. :/ Lol I am also going to call or go down there Monday..hopefully we can get this figured out!

Lol, me too! That make me feel a lot better! I thought it might be just me and that somehow my HESI scores got lost. I know we have plenty of time to get it figured out, but I still just fret over things. I keep telling myself that no matter the outcome, I should still let this be an exciting time and not let it stress me out. Until Monday....hope you have a good weekend!

I know how you feel. I just want to get that dang application turned it so I can move on! Lol Have a good weekend as well...we'll see what happens Monday!

I wasn't able to talk with someone in the nursing department at Kingwood, but I did speak with the nursing department at Cy-Fair. They told me to check with the testing center to see if the scores had been processed. I talked with a woman at the Kingwood testing center (which is where I took my HESI) and she said that the nursing department picks up the scores from the testing center and then enters them in their system. She checked on my scores and said she could see where I had taken the HESI, but that the nursing department just hasn't entered it in yet. I left a message for the nursing department at Kingwood just making sure they have my scores and if there is anything else I need to do. I haven't heard back from them yet. I know there is plenty of time and I'm sure they are very busy right now with the application period and may be dealing with lots of questions. I will be patient, but I will keep following up with them. I just want to turn everything in and not stress about it for a little while.

I was able to fix mine today and turn it in! I had to call the nursing dept. at the Montgomery campus (that's where I took my HESI) and over the phone the lady updated my scores and it reflected immediately online. The whole phone call took about 3 minutes! I then printed out all the paperwork including the new score sheet, signed it all, and took it and dropped it off at the kwood office! I'm so relieved to have all of that turned in! I would call the testing center and get see what you could get done there. I know there is still plenty of time, but you never know how many ppl you're going to have to fo through to get corrections made! Lol Sometimes people are there are SO helpful and other times no so much. :/

Nevermind, I just saw where you said that you talked to the testing center already.

I would def follow up because you have to turn in a signed copy of your score sheet with the correct score on it as part of your application. If that isn't turned in they may not use the correct score for you..there are a lot of applicants and it could get overlooked.

Thank you! @manders235

I am just retaking psych and the teacher is good so far. But this application period is only for Cy-fair and Kingwood. I want Cy-fair as my 1st choice..... I think next application period is Jan 2013 and all four schools will be taking applications so I might have a shot. But I'll still try this time and see. I have the HESI guide and I try to read it everyday but I'm very worried about A & P part!!!

Specializes in ER.

I remember reading back on the first or second page someone was wondering the number of accepted applicants for the Quest and the basic/generic track for the ADN program. The basic/generic program takes 40 students and the Quest online takes 20.

My guess, would be that anyone with 11.6+ is about as close to guaranteed as you can get. As long as your GPA isn't terrible, anything above that is pretty impressive and should put you near the top.

YAY!! I spoke with the director at Kingwood today and all I had to do was email Valerie and she processed my HESI score! I will be taking all of my paperwork to them tomorrow...eek!

I'm *pretty* sure the basic track at Kingwood takes 80 (if that's what you're talking about) but only because they have a day and night program! Which is awesome!

Also, I sure hope you're right about the 11.6 thing!! :D

That's also what I had written down when I attended one of the information sessions-Kingwood's basic track has 80 spots and Cy-Fair has approximately 40 spots.

I know! I need to find something to take my mind off of counting down the days! I know letters go out in September, but do you know approximately when?
