Kindred dallas LTAC

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi. I will be graduating with my BSN in May 2015 and I was interested in working for an LTAC in Dallas. Does anyone know which are the best in the area and which are willing to hire a new graduate nurse? Also how is the pay for a facility like this? Any help is awesome. Thanks :)

Kindred of Dallas is good and they paid me great back when I worked there.

Hi. lth1123. Thank you for your response. Did you already have nursing experience when they hired you or were you a brand new nurse?

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

In addition to Kindred Hospital, other LTAC hospitals in the DFW area include Vibra Specialty Hospital, Select Specialty Hospital, Ethicus Hospital, LifeCare Hospital, and several others that are not yet coming to mind.

What do you consider "Great"?

Although I am not the respondent who said that Kindred paid me "great," I had been earning $33 per hour when I worked at a Kindred facility in late 2011. Although that's not great, it is a competitive wage for the low-paying DFW area. Since almost four years has passed since that time, I imagine their pay grid might have increased.

However, the work is hard drudgery, which is why I didn't last terribly long. The nurse/patient ratios were high and the work was sometimes hard to bear.

Sound like pretty good pay scale to me, Working conditions as described sound awful.

Thanks for the input

Thank you for your Response The Commuter. Were you a new graduate when you worked at Kindred in 2011?

No. I worked as an LVN from 2006 until I earned my RN license in 2010. My LVN experience was credited when my wage was offered.
