Houston Area Hospitals

U.S.A. Texas

Hey everyone! I am looking for a little advice. I am a new graduate from Birmingham, AL possibly looking to moving to the Houston area. I have put in applications with several area hospitals (Tomball, St. Lukes Woodlands, Methodist Willowbrook, Memorial Hermann). The only hospitals to contact me back so far are Methodist and Tomball. Does anyone know how the hiring process at Tomball works? I was contacted to schedule an interview with HR, but I am hesitant to fly out to Houston for JUST an HR interview only to find out I needed to come back a few days later for another interview with the unit manager? Understand my conflict?

I am interested in women's health, mainly labor and delivery. If there is any advice you guys could give me in making this process a little easier that would be great. Do any of you work at these hospitals and have contact information for recruiters, managers, anyone I could call to explain my situation? Thank you so much in advance!

Lauren

Oh, I am also considering the Memorial Hermann Internship program. Has anyone done this? Was it a good experience?

Hi Lauren,

I am still a student; however, I know someone that did a NICU internship at Memorial Hermann Southwest and was then hired there. She really likes the hospital and the NICU; however, she HATES the 7p-7a shift!

Have you thought about lining up all of your interviews at once? That way, you wouldn't have to make several trips. By the way, I have relatives in Jasper. Good luck!

I was just reading your post, i interviewed with Tombal about a year ago and I interviewed with HR and the attempted to get me to meet with the nursing supervisor but they had an emergency and i couldn't that day but i think usually they do it the same day. I worked for memorial herman northwest for two years and they always interviewed with hr and then took you up to ther nursing supervisor
