U.S.A. Texas

After getting my acceptance letter for the program, I wanted to try and see if I knew anybody else that got in! I went to sherman high school and graduated 2009 and have been in sherman all my life! Can't wait to meet everyone, if not on here then August 8th!

Yay, I got my acceptance letter as well. Now, waiting for my blue card. I called the TBON this morning and they said that it was mailed July 8. If I don't have it by monday I am going to ask them could they please resend it! I graduated from Denison High School, 2007. I am so nervous and ready to start! I'm very anxious!

I got my fingerprints done last week so how long did it take them to say they mailed you the postcard? I would definitely call if you don't get it soon! I'm so nervous haha but so excited too :)

I did fingerprints June 30th, and they said they mailed my card out on July 8th...it's all so nerve wrecking. I'm stressed lol! However, they say it takes like 10 days (business days) because of the bulk mail or something or other! I just felt I needed to call and see exactly what they said about it over the phone.

Monday, I'll be calling again or Tuesday.

Currently I attend Collin College (in McKinney) and I am thinking about applying to Grayson in January for the Fall 2015 application process. I applied to our Nursing program for the Spring 2015 class and we are still waiting on our letters of acceptance. Can you give me an honest opinion on the program there? I hate to say this, but the college I attend says Grayson isn't that good. I don't believe that but I don't know anybody that attends this college and I wanted to know what graduating stats were.

Here's the latest RN pass rates I was able to find for Collin College: 2010 - 97.4%, 2011 - 87.4%, 2012 - 98.1%. For Grayson CC the pass rates are: 2010 - 96.9%, 2011 - 90.5%, and 2012 - 91.1%. For U.T. Arlington (this would be for their BSN program), the pass rates were: 2010 - 92.5%, 2011 - 93.2%, and 2012 - 95.1%. For U.T. Austin (again their BSN program) the pass rates were: 2010 - 94.2%, 2011 - 91.9%, and 2012 - 95.4%. From this, I think we could say that, on the RN exam, Collin is better than either the UT Arlington or UT Austin BSN program, judging just on pass rates (not on actual nursing skill of graduates). The 2011 year was unusually bad for most of the schools. Grayson shows up well but slightly less competitive.

Personally, I like Grayson. They don't try to trick you with the curriculum or anything. Plus, you will learn a lot along the way and be able to apply it. I've heard by a friend that Collin is really tough but I guess to each his own. Just be ready to buckle down and give it all you got no matter where you go. Honestly, since it's all a time consuming task, I suggest trying to get in the one closest to your commute. Also,as the person below said, Grayson isn't as competitive as Collin so maybe apply to both! :) Good luck in your journey!
