Grayson 2014 Fall ADN Program

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone!

I know there have to be some 2014 Fall Applicants out there!!

The lurkers and researchers :)

I'm starting this thread in relation to the upcoming application deadline for Grayson ADN program that starts Fall 2014. I have filled out my application and will be sending it off once I'm able to talk to the nursing department, once the college opens back up so I'll know where to address my application specifically to. I have 27 out of 28 points possible for out of county residents. I'm excieted and eager to see the outcome! I'm not from Denison and do not know much about Grayson College so anyone with information please provide!!!

Hi! :)

I am looking to applying for Fall 2014 but I will be taking Microbiology for Spring and hoping to do okay this time. I took is semester before last (Spring 2013) and recieved a "C". I didn't study as I should have. As of right now I have 19 points so far w/ the C in Micro, I am hoping to get an A, that'll have me at 23. I've yet to take the Entrance Exam but I've been studying...

I doubt I'll get accepted but it's worth a shot. :( If not, I'll apply for Spring and retake A&P II.

I would definitely apply!! I called the college of nursing and asked what address to mail my app packet to so I can go ahead and turn my application in. I hope it's not too early to send it in! I also asked what was the decision maker for a tie breaker between points and I was told the HESI. I have a 82.8 overall so I hope that will not hurt me for be selected.I guess all there is to do is wait and see ;)

Yay. I think the Fall deadline will be March 31st to have everything submitted. July 31st for Spring 2015. Yeah, your points look perfect and your HESI score is great. What was the hardest part of the HESI to you?

Thanks!!

I'm dropping off my application in the mail tomorrow!

Here are my HESI stats and study areas to focus on!

Math= 90% I have really improved over the years in math. RATIOS/PROPORTIONS/PERCENTS/FRACTIONS Main math components.

Reading= 86% CONCLUSIONS/MAIN IDEAS Main reading components/most confusing.

Grammar=80% WORD USAGE/SENTENCE STRUCTURE/PUNCTUATION Main grammar components, make sure you understand.

Vocab= 78% REVIEW HESI MANUAL VOCAB those words are used on the test.

Anatomy= 80% I did not know anatomy only have 30 questions with only 25 graded so you really do not have room to miss allot. DIGESTIVE/REPRODUCTIVE/MENSTRUAL CYCLE/CIRCULATORY Main anatomy components.

In my opinion grammar and vocab was a bit of a challenge! I could have did better on my reading if I would have focused more on my conclusion and main idea questions.

I read on other forums on Grayson about acceptance notifications for fall is end of may beginning of june. I wonder why so late! I have other programs I'm applying to and there letters goes out in april and may.

I was debating on retaking the test but I have to take the TEAS and I do not want to take the test again and potentially not do as good the second time. So I'm leaving well enough alone lol :)

Oh, wow! Thanks. Good to know. I so happy you posted this about what I should expect! I went and purchased the book called, "Admission Assessment Exam Review" that Grayson offers in the bookstore. The grammar is a little complex. I need a quick review over that area. Yeah, I'm making sure that I am aware of all the math components if nothing else.

Grayson does have the acceptance notifications a bit later than other schools, I have noticed. I signed up yesterday to take the HESI and I will be taking it February 24th at 8:30 AM.

You'll do fine! Your points are great and everything looks good for you! I hope you get at all the schools you apply for so that you have a choice! :)

Hi guys, I am also looking into this college.

Their website seems hard to navigate! How do we get the nursing packet or apply to the program??

Hey, go to this link:

http://www.grayson.edu/WebSite/adminGCC/programFiles/brochure/Info packet for Registered Nurse.pdf

I hope that link works for you. It's the packet and everything you need to know. Just print that off. :) Whenever you're ready to apply just make sure that you have everything that they've listed included into your stuff to turn in and you should be good to go.

@PD82 Did you take a look at the info packet? Did you add up your points for admission?

I am applying for the Fall '14. I have to retake Micro and take the entrance exam so I am not sure how many points I will have.
