Hi. Is anyone here attending nursing school at El Paso Community College? I will be starting my first semester in January and am very excited! I've already purchased many of the text books and wanted to know if anyone else has? Any concerns or comments about attending the program? I'd love to hear from you!

Happy New Year!:yeah:

Patito,

You're pretty much going to be in school all day. I work part time and I only work weekends. Your schedule is going to be different each day. You'll be getting a schedule for the semester that tells what class/lab/lecture you'll have each day. It'll be different every day. Some days your there until 5pm but there are times your out by 12pm. But believe me, if you get out early you're going to want to go to the library to catch up on your reading. Good luck and congrats on getting in the program.

Hey Everyone I am glad other students are also very interested on the program and i dont feel lonely LOL I berly found this site, So I am Jesus and I am 18 and I just took A and P 1 this Fall 2010 and I wanted to rank this June 2011 for the RN program but I did Horrible on the A&P 1, for one the instructor was a Dr and the exams were 150 questions plus 80% that was on the test we dirent even cover in class! Now I am registered for A&P 2 and micro 2420 and MAth 1324 and another math on sat this Spring 2011. Just Curious If anyone took (Instructor-Salas) at Mission del Paso before for the A&P classes If so how is he and how are the Exams? If Anyone has any advise for me or wants to share on how they got into the program, or if u took salas before reply Plz thanks. ;)

Jesus or Jnava44 dnt worry so much You will do great! Im not the most bright student and I made it! Have faith and do study for those classes cause they are requirements. Dont give up, cause the day u make it, tears will come down ur cheeks!

ey thanks alot for the encouragement patito no one thinks I can make it except my mom, because a never liked school but I want to prove everyone wrong I cant wait for the day to be on my uniform and tell my family I made it!!!! Just have a few questions for you how is the RN program do they divide the 70+ students into groups and have to meet up every class or what? and do you register yourself at banner still? also are you going to be able to be working while your in the program? i really appreciate you help take care.

Jesus

:coollook: AY 44 ITS A MESS, ITS A TOTAL OF FOUR GROUPS AND EVERYONE DIFFERENT TIME. SOME COME IN THE EVENING AND OTHERS IN THE MORNING. IF YOU WANT TO WORK, GOOD LUCK WITH THE TIME, UNLESS YOU HAVE AN AWSOME BOSS LIKE MINE, THAT WORKS WITH ME. I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE BANNER THING. iVE NEVER REGISTERED WITH BANNER, SO LET ME KNOW WHATS UP WITH THAT DEAL. OH AND REALLY DO READ THE CHAPTERS CAUSE THE TESTS ARE HARD AND CONFUSING. THE PROFESSORS ARE REALLY COOL, SOME ARE GROUCHY, BUT NOT BAD AT ALL.

Hello all!

I've been reading some of the posts here and congrats to all those who got into the program! It's a lot of hard work, lots of reading, but it will all be worth it at the end. If you all need any advice, just let me know!:)

Congrats to those already in the program and those that are trying !!!!

So I will rank this coming June I'm nervous but excited . I have A's in my science classes but I need to take my accuplace, I really hope I get in. !!!!

Has anyone in the program have kids under 5? I'm very nervous to put my daughters in daycare : ( they're 3 and 5 and thats killing me, but at the end of the day I'm doing it for them : )

 Hello Mother of 2, yes it's doable, but the reality is you are not going to have time for your kids at all, but like you said you are doing it for them... god luck

I am graduating this May from the RN program at EPCC. I feel so happy that I made it though this difficult program!! For all of you who are going to start the RN program or planning to attend just know that you will be in for a bumpy ride but it is doable and worth it. Don't be afraid, or give up. You will be in the company of many other students who are feeling the same way you do. You will make good friends and study for long hours with your new friends and you will get through the toughest time with your new friends. Family is important but they need to understand that you will not have much time for them. They need to carry on without you for many events and celebrations. That is how a family can support you by understanding that you will not be around for a while. I was lucky to have a supportive family and great friends to study with. I believe that I made it throught this program because of my family and friends.

Hello everyone. : )

I will be ranking this June for RN at EPCC. I currently have 1076 points, do you guys think I can get in ? Or should I try scoring higher in my accuplacer? Thank and hope to hear from y'all soon. : )

have any of you taken pharmacology 1301 in the summer at rio grande i heard good things about the instructor but is it true you have open book or take home exams? or how is the course overall difficult ,easy?? because I am taking pharm , anatomy and math just wanted to know how the course is so i can decide wether to take it or not. also how do you come up with the 1000 number when you rank????
