I had my IV check off yesterday and got a 98 because she said I threw the old line too hard after I disconnected it and you would never do that in a patient's room. lol. I just had to laugh and let her have the 2 little points. I really didn't think I threw it in any fashion except for getting it out of the way hahaha. OH WELL!
    That's a great score!!!

We have lost 4 people ( 1 went to NL) due to the pharm tests and that new stupid rule where 2 70s and you're out. We have lost sooo many people total. From the last test, because of that rule, we lost a total of 7 people. 2 people just dropped because they felt nursing wasn't for them and 2 people had to drop because they didn't pass skills check offs. It's been pretty lonely in lecture. There are 16 people right now that could be out if they make below 70 on this next test. That's ALOT!! It's still alot right now...

Poor guy who had to quit the program That would be awful to deal with.
We lost only one person to the pharm. I think we may have lost 1-2 due to the 70 rule, and 2 people quit for personal reasons. Everyone passed check-offs, but I would say about 80-90% of the class could be out if they get a 70 or below on any other test... me included! The first test killed just about everybody...

Oh yeah- I got an 80 on the last test. It was just STUPID mistakes of OVER THINKING the questions. Our class average was a 77. I have just been sooo busy with these virtual clinicals that I forgot to post. They say test 2 is the hardest so I'm just glad it's over.
Have you heard anything about test 3 and 4? I have test anxiety now because I cannot fail another test.

Did you guys hear that HESI is scheduled for Friday, December 15 from 1p-5p at El Centro? Our lecture teacher told us yesterday...She said if we don't make a 900 or higher that we have to complete some modules and get a 90 or above on each module and they will have to be completed over Christmas break.

I have just heard that test 2 is the hardest and tests 3&4 are pretty good and where you can make up for a lot of points you may have lost in the first 2 tests. This is all rumor though.

I guess ECC has lost the most students....

Thanks for the date, I didn't know that.
The modules are supposed to be case studies. But we are not going to do the modules because we are going to pass the Hesi, aren't we?

Exactly! Yes, we are going to pass the HESI! Have you guys bought the HESI book? It's a great study guide even for lecture!

I now know why ECC says they have 98% pass rate on the NCLEX and that's because there are only 15 people left! hahaha

My instuctor told us about the test this week too. She said that you can redo the modules as needed to achieve a 90.... therefore no one will fail! So... right now I'm not worrying about it! I think I have the HESI book... is it spiral bound? If so it's very good... and before you use the cd, make yourself a couple of copies because you can only take the exams on it 5 times.

I think our graduating class last semester had less than 15!!! That's sooooo sad...

Brie- yeah the HESI book is spiral bound and I am loving that book!

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ON TEST 3!!!!!

Are any of you guys focusing on anorectal malformations? There are quite a few of them and I wasn't sure if we would be specifically tested on each one. How are you guys studying that part? I'm thinking just study what changes they would go through with them or post op care. What do y'all think? :spin:

I think these birth deformities are the most interesting yet which is making studying for this test a lot more fun!

How many tests do you have in 2nd semester? The semester is over half way through and you guys have only had 2 tests so far?!? At any rate, good luck all you guys. I have heard 2nd semester is the hardest - hang in there just a little while longer.

I am just studying whatever is on the slides. Do we have anorectal malformations on the bluprint? I didn't see.

    Good luck you all.
