I graduate with my BSN in May and am doing my research on residency programs that offer women's services in DFW.
I have found Medical City, Texas Health Resources and Parkland all offer women's services residency/internships.
I have my heart set on L&D/couplet care/gyn (anything women's related, really lol) and I've heard that as a new grad, especially in the state of Texas, this is the best route to go.
Any other suggestions?
JPS also offers Women's services Residency
In the DFW area a residency is pretty much the only way to get an acute care new grad position. Know that it is highly competitive. Apply early. These openings are known to post and be taken down in less than 24 hours due to the volume of applications received.
Try to get your foot in the door at some of the places you are considering applying, either as a patient care tech, unit secretary, or even a nurse extern. There is so much residency competition, but if you already work at the facility they are likely to consider you before external applicants.
