Today I found out terrible news from Chamberlain University. Instead of being one of the easier school to get into, it is not so at all. My first degree is in Biology with all of my nursing prereqs out of the way. During my b.s. degree, I attended a community college and a university. If, I were to make a D at the University, I would retake it at the community college for the summer. One semester I made terrible grades and made them up at the community college because it was cheaper. I also took other classes towards another field. I finished with 153hrs. Chamberlain said I had 178. They include the withdraws too. All my prereqs would be a 3.0. but because i didnt make up the classes where i failed at the same school and made them up at a c college they put me at a lower gpa plus having a 178 put me at 48 classes at 4hrs each and all A's to bring my gpa up. How they come up with that ish. Thats damn near impossible. I saw ex classmates that couldnt cut it in the biology that was in their program. I told them their crazy. I only have two D's. Calculus and chem 2 lab which im taking this summer. And you need neither class for a prereq.

so im currently a highschool senior and i was wondering wether i should go to hbu or chamberlain i know i can get accepted into either of them but im undesisive on which one is better..:w00t:

hbu pros:

university

is well-known

has a bsn nursing program

hbu cons:

it is about a thousan or so more dollars in tuition than chamberlain

their bsn program is 4 years..

their application process is more lenghty

chamberlain pros:

bsn program is 3 years

cheaper tuition

new institution

good equipment

chamberlain cons:

is a colledge

fairly new program

almost as expensive as hbu but is not a university..

so if anyone who is a student or was has any views on which i should pick please reply with reasons why you think one is better

thanks:heartbeat

I have just applied and am so excited to just hear back about my evaluation. I will be going for the 3yr BSN program so when I'm accepted, we can be study partners...I learn really quickly and I can be "on fire" at times. Has anyone gotten back to you as of yet?

If you go on their website and you will find that they list all their accreditations for ALL campuses (and when you go it should be displayed somewhere). I understand your stance but as soon as you start one college please stay at that one. So you definitely need to make an informed decision for yourself. If I were you, I would make sure to visit the campus to see how you feel and if you can envision yourself in the school and doing what you see the students doing. Good luck.

I applied to Chamberlain as well. I applied on June 27 and I am still waiting to hear something back from them. Everything has been turned in. Does anyone know how long it normally take for them to get back with you?

If I were you I would continuously contact them. This is what I did, you have to be persistent. I applied this past Monday and gave them 2 days so I emailed and left messages for one whole day, the next day (today) someone called me back. Have you taken your Admissions test?

THANKS babygyrlktm1985!!......Yes I took my Hesi test already. I have been in contact with my advisor ever since then but I'm really not getting too much from him. I think I did pretty well 90% overall on the entrance exam and a 3.5 GPA. Guess I will just continue to wait.......
