Can I wear scrub for an interview?

U.S.A. Texas

Published

hi, I am gonna have an interview tomorrow at a long-term care facility (they call community-based alternative though, but I assume I will still be working with people with chronic conditions)

The Q is:

Can I wear scrub for an interview like this? Will I lose the opportunity from the first impression?

HELP ME!!!!THANK YOU!!!!

I personally would not... but that's my opinion.... Not that you should be ashamed of your profession or wearing scrubs, but treat the interview like a business meeting and look ready for negotiations.

I think you are right and I will take your suggestion! Suit for an interview. A suit would never be bad for an interview. Rather choose dress-up!--thank you again!!!

I've interviewed candidates in my past profession. I would say it's best to be over dressed rather than under dressed... With that said, I have interviewed people who have told me in advance they were coming from work so they wouldn't be in a suit.. I have never held that against this person. I appreciated their honesty... Good Luck!

Scrubs are work wear. A job interview calls for a more professional effort. A business suit or classic skirt and blouse are commonly accepted for interviews. Can't go wrong with these, unless attire is specified beforehand and you do not comply with the special request.

how about black lether boots? no time to puchase another pair of dress shoes today....too busy with the baby..:)thank you

Depends on what you're wearing the leather boots with, are you wearing them with slacks, a long skirt, a short skirt, what?

I am thinking of wearing a typical suit with keen-high skirt (black with you-cannot-even-see white stripe), black hosiery and black leather boots (0.5" heel).

Thank you!!!

So what did you wear?? Did you get the job??

Definitely NO to the scrubs....unless you really don't want the job.
