Brookhaven nursing applicants for Spring 2014

I am applying to Brookhaven's nursing program to start in Spring 2014. Anyone else applying and if so, how far along are you in the process? I have all my prereq's done plus Micro, A&P II, Lifespan, Nursing Patho,and Pharmacology.

omg yall are scaring me with that drug calc class.... what is it for? I havent heard

It is a self taught course that you do online. You take a test at the end an get a score. For spring 14 you had to make a 90 or above to be eligible to apply to the program. The course has flaws (errors by elsevier) which are totally frustrating because they make you think that you are doing the calculations wrong but you aren't. I went back and noted the error that I could to the staff at Brookhaven an tried to work with the techs on the course end, never got notification that it was fixed though. Perhaps they will change it and not make y'all have to do it??

Also just an FYI in case you still are required to take it to apply, the book recommended by Brookhaven is NOT the book that goes with the course. There is a different book that is supposedly written by the person who wrote the course. BOTH are useless. I have them and never used them. If you take notes during the lessons you won't need a book, they don't answer your questions anyways. Remember there is no instructor to ask if you are confused which you might be at some points. I'd be happy to help in anyway I can though! :)

I am not sure if it is required or not! I have not heard of it. Is it Brookhaven only? I have not looked into Brookhaven's in a semester or so I am looking more into ECC, MVC, and TVCC. Still playing around with these darn classes and points ughhhhhhhhh!!!!

To new nurses and current nursing students.

What is a nursing care plan? Is it difficult ? Is it like a paragraph or is it like a table where we fill up the informations and stuff.

What are the subjects I should brush up during the summer?

I know pharmacology and a&p but what part of a&p specifically I should study during the summer to refresh my brain? Lol

I will relax during the summer but I will be doing a little bit of studying to get ready.
