Hello everybody! It's a little early, but I thought I'd start a thread for the Brookhaven Spring 2015 start date. How's everybody doing? :)

Hi! I'm hoping to start the Nursing Program at Brookhaven next spring. Have you taken the HESI A2 exam yet? I'm finishing up my prerequisites right now. Nice to meet you! :)

I am applying this fall in hopes to start the program Spring 2015. I have finished all pre reqs and supports except end of life. I made a 84 the first time on my Hesi though, I am retaking it this saturday at el centro in hopes to make a better grade on the anatomy and physiology portion since I did well on everything else. I dont know how many points untill after I retake the Hesi, before the Hesi I will have 13, just looking for a 90 on the hesi;) Hoping to have 27+ points

Do you guys know what the admission date is I'm also applying haven't took the hesi I've read the anatomy part is the hardest! Good luck to everyone !!

I'm currently taking A&P I and II during the summer... very difficult with lectures and labs being condensed in a short period of time.

I haven't even started studying for the HESI yet, which is coming soon early Sept. Since I'm so new to pre-nursing, trying to get things done before the deadline is pretty overwhelming... but I know I can get it done. I also want to bridge into the BSN program with UTA. I originally wanted to apply to UTA for their accelerated BSN program, but their pre-requisites were so much I gave up and started at Brookhaven. Does anyone know if the pre-requisites for the bridge program is the same or different? Has anybody looked into the Brookhaven bridge program with UTA?

I too am looking to apply to Brookhaven for the Spring 2015 nursing class. I see that there are some pre-reqs that I will need, because I did not need them when I got my Respiratory Therapy degree in 2004 (A&P II and Patho). I am going to schedule my HESI A2 test tomorrow, and find out if it is even possible to be able to start in Spring, based on that. I wish I would found out about this program earlier :(

Has anyone else noticed that the application information no longer states that you need to take the critical thinking portion of the HESI? I emailed one of the academic counselors about this and asked the following "1) Is the critical thinking portion of the HESI no longer required for admission to Brookhaven's nursing program?" the reply I got was a simple "YES". HELP!

Hey Daysxdesign,

I had this same question. I asked two advisors and these are the responses I received:

"You can take the HESI A2 only once per application time, during the months of FEB and SEPT at Brookhaven College. If you are planning to take the HESI at a different location, we cannot track it. So, it is up to you if you want to take the HESI at a different location."

Another advisor told me,

" At Brookhaven College we require that you take the HESIA2 once per application period. That being said if you take it in the summer and then again in Sept to apply to our program we are needing the score from the most current HESIA2. So you will not be disqualified. Any other questions please feel free to contact me."

Hope these responses help! :)
