NNOC and UAN, its new partner, are trying to infiltrate Texas hospitals and our statehouse.

If this union is so great, then why do nurses in California keep fighting to get rid of the CNA as their representative?

In recent months, nurses at Scripps in Encinitas and Community Med Ctr in Fresno terminated their relationship with the CNA.

In the face of defeat, CNA also walked away from nurses at Inland Valley. In March 2009, it withdrew from an effort to represent nurses at Saint Agnes in Fresno.

California nurses have been dealing with this union for about 15 years. They must know something about it that nurses in other states, like Texas, don't know. Obviously, there's something wrong with this union that California nurses no longer want to be part of it.

Let's teach them: Don't Mess with Texas!

Are they active in your area yet Tom? I agree, we need to pay attention to the actions of our California colleagues who have had much more experience with this issue than we have.

I think you may be confusing the acronym. Certified Nurse Assistants are here to stay - a valued part of the nursing team. On the other hand, the California Nurses Association is a driving force in the effort to bring unions into Texas.
