Every hospital with a step down icu, the nurse is expected to keep patient on monitor at all times! That's just the standard of practice. perhaps you might like med surg floor if you are bothered by keeping your patient on monitor continuously even for transport. Every tele or imu always had many transfers, especially in big hospitals. You may want to ask this questions during your interview. Good luck.

Did you work in the MIMU at Memorial Hermman in the Texas Medical Center in Houston Texas?
If so what did you hate about it? I have an offer for it.

any advice you could tell me would be greatly appreciated!

Any unit with a monitored pt will require you to travel with them
