Baylor January 2013 Internships

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Are there any new grads or RNs out there that have applied to Baylor's 2013 Winter internships? I thought I would start this so we can all share our tips, tricks and progress.

I applied to the Women's Services internship and was emailed a phone interview offer, scheduled for Tuesday!

I wanted your opinion though. Do you think you have a better chance at a job when you put "all your eggs in one basket" and make it clear that your heart is set on one area of nursing (ie. L&D, ER, ICU) or are you all applying for a whole bunch of areas of nursing and hoping for just whatever you get?

I interviewed on the 9th as well. I'm not giving up yet but it's just frustrating to not know. I applied to Texas health, north hills and jps and haven't heard anything . I'm trying to stay positive though.

I had to wait over a week after the in person interview before I was offered a position in the NICU. Those that haven't heard anything please don't give up and if your worried don't hesitate to call the recruiter for a follow-up.

I didn't get the job, I'm happy for the new grads who did though : ) I am kind of discouraged though, I have been looking for a job for a year now without much luck.

RobinMRn: don’t be discouraged; “ One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn’t pay to get discouraged. Keep busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself”.

Have you tried applying at other hospitals. Methodist Dallas has several RN internships.

Thank you NICUGN : ) you are right, I am trying to stay positive and move forward. I have been applying to other places in fort worth. I have 3 kids so I can't work in Dallas bc it is too far .

Would Baylor Irving be too far? I only just had my first day on the unit yesterday but they seem to be in need of L&D nurses, and pretty willing to train them.

It's about 30 min, not too bad . How would I go about applying there? How do you like it so far?

hi,

I interviewed oct 22nd and haven't heard anything yet, seeing your post is making me more nervous. I am so sorry, how did you know, where you called or emailed? should I call them? dont know if its too early though.

The nursing managers never got back to me. I just emailed the recruiter who told me all of the positions had been filled.

I waited and got a NICU interview & was offered the job so I will go through the internship! So excited!

NICUGN2013, where did you get a NICU position?

am happy for you. i didn't get the job. got the sad e mail today
