Only those 4 are calculated into your GPA for entrance into the program. There are 4 general class you take in the summer and 1 general class you take during another semester. I don't believe that you can take nursing classes in the summer, but I am not positive about that. If you have completed your general courses that are required in the summer, then you do not have to take them again, and you would essentially get summer off.

Hello, I'd like to know how many semesters is the adn? And I've read something before about in the summer semester they allow you to take prereqs, what prereqs are they?

The program is 5 semesters (some of them are two flex courses - 8 weeks each) and the summer semester is English Comp, College Algebra, Sociology, Ethics, and Life Span Growth and Development. Also, if you are done with these classes (required for Associates Degree) you can take pharmacology online during the summer or have summer off.

The pre-requisites are A&P I & II, Microbiology w/lab and Intro to Psych.

Hey everyone I was just wanting to make sure from those who have purchased their books already that they bought 7 books total? I was just a little confused from the first three listed; from my understanding we could buy the first option or the next two separately? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also, I am wanting to get some opinions on how many scrubs everyone was thinking we would be needing? I am thinking of purchasing 3-4 sets but was wondering if that would be too many or if anyone felt we would need more? Any thoughts? Hope everyone is having a great day!

You are only allowed to buy 3 patches at a time (weird, I know). But I bought some used scrubs from them with patches on already. I am planning on have several tops and bottoms, but there are several of us that do laundry at my house so it is a gamble if I only have a few sets.

And yes, I purchased 7 books for the first semester.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I went in the other day to turn some things in and I asked John if we were required to wear scrubs on non-clinical days, and he said that we are NOT. He said that all of the professors seem to agree that 2 sets of scrubs should be enough for most people since most people do laundry weekly. :) Just thought I'd let everyone know, and save you all some money! Lord knows we're all spending TONS on this program! LOL!
