A former coworker of mine who lived in Wichita Falls used to drive back and forth to Fort Worth for full time weekend double shifts. She worked 16 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, and had Monday through Friday off. This type of scheduling enabled her to obtain full pay while working only 2 days.

If you live in/near WF, don't forget that the roads go north as well. Lawton, OK is less than 45 minutes away. It's not paradise (I grew up in the area), but they do have two hospitals, two nursing programs, and several LTCs.

If you still wanted to work in TX, you'd need to maintain 2 separate licenses since OK isn't part of the compact.
