Which cpr?

I got in to Lonestar college -but I don't know what Cpr class to take. I signed up for the continuing education basic life support. But it doesn't say if it has two year certification. Anyone know?

AHA "BLS for Healthcare Providers" is the preferred one.

The only ones I found are called "basic life support", and "life support for professionals" I'm hoping the professional one will work. It has to offer two year certification. I emailed the professor to see if she knows. The nursing department didn't have any anwsers for me. You would think it was a common occurence.

To the best of my knowledge, any and all certifications from the AHA are two years in length. The best place to go for training is a local hospital. I work at Methodist Willowbrook when I'm not in school and we have BLS classes at least once a month. I'm fairly sure these are open to outsiders, however they typically aren't free. Also check with Cy Creek EMS.

Where is the "most affordable" place in the NW Houston and/or Tomball area to enroll in a CPR course? Last time I was enrolled in one was a couple years ago at the YMCA next to 249. A half day CPR course offered at the YMCA for $40+.

Hi misserella8036!

How did it go? Does it include AED? Do both Basic Life Support and Professional Rescuer include AED?

The Junior League of Houston offers the only free CPR: BLS for healthcare providers in Houston. My nursing school accepted it. I have the red cross certification card. Just had to go two evenings for an hour and a half each. It was great. Saved $.
