Where Can A Student Get Immunization Shots in Dallas?

I was recently accepted into TWU's nursing program and need to get my immunization records in order. I know I can pull up my previous records from my high school records. But what I really need to know is where can I go that accepts my insurance, United Healthcare, to get the Hep B and DPT vaccines in the Dallas area?

I checked with my primary physician and his office doesn't offer it. Someone recommended the Dallas County Health Department, but they charge too much in my opinion and don't accept insurance. Does anyone know of a clinic in the Dallas metroplex that does the immunication shots for nursing students AND accept insurance?

i dont think insurance will pay for any immunizations because they arent "necessary" in their opinion. thats what united healthcare told me. the health dept is going to be way cheaper than any dr office,, or you could try going to occupational health at a hospital and telling them you are a nursing student. i did that and got a tb test for $10.

there's a place in dallas called "passport health" that has a few different offices in the area where you can get vaccinations. i think it's all they do...they sort of cater to international travelers. just look them up online and it'll tell you where to go, etc. i don't think they're discounted by any means, so you might be better off trying to get them through your school, assuming they offer them.

Have you asked TWU if they have a recommendation? Perhaps they have a student health center that offers vaccinations.

I went to Dallas County Health Department off Fishtrap Road in Dallas.

Paid $3 for all my shots - I got 5 different shots.

Don't go early in the morning, Go around 1 pm and the wait is short.

Thank you guys for your suggestions. I'll look into each of them but the one on Fishtrap Road looks promising. I am known for being a tight wad when it comes to money, so Fishtrap will be the first one I look into.
