What type of physical activity is around in Austin

by soccer

Hi,
I am thinking of moving to Austin and I was wondering what people do for fun, like physical activities...running, biking?

Thanks!

Walking, jogging, biking, swimming, you name it. Austin is very eclectic and there is a large movement of athletic/nature lovers/natural food type people there. Although I prefer to live away from cities, I like the Austin area better than other big cities in TX.

I second that! I LOVED Austin and wish I had never left! There is so much to do there...Barton Springs, running trails, rafting (closeby), etc. The city has a small-town feel but is still a decent sized city. The pay is not as good there, but knowing what I know now, money isn't always the best reason to move somewhere (and that comes from someone who is desperately in debt.)

I also agree that Austin is great. Having left Austin for San Antonio then S.A. for Houston, I have to say that Austin was my favorite. There is plenty of places to do physical activites and the people are so nice. True they don't pay well for the higher cost of living but I was much happier there and still keep in touch with my friends. Hopefully someday I can go back.

Austin is a very pretty city! If I could, I would live there in a heart beat! Lake Travis is nice. You can also take a 30-45 min drive into the hill country and do some hiking! San Antone & San Marcus shopping... ooooh!
