I am in the Kingwood program, but I'm sure they are very similar. The huge expense will be your books. I just spent $400, and I have a few left to buy. And those are just the required ones, not the reccomended or suggested ones.
As far as supplies, you will need your uniform and shoes, a stethescpoe, BP cuff, scissors for tape and maybe trauma sheers, a watch with a 2nd hand, and pen light.

Hey - I am starting my second year at North Harris. You will need to purchase a stethoscope. I don't think we had to buy a blood pressure cuff b/c you can use the ones in the lab, but it definitely helps to have one so you can practice at home. You don't need a pen light b/c it comes in your lab supply kit.

On another note, if you can, come to Camp Wanna Win. We will give you all the details of what you need to buy that will help you in nursing school.

I started this question on another section, but if anyone here that can help me, please!
I want to buy the books that I'll REALLY use for the first semester. I want to spend my money wisely instead of the whole $900 worth's of books from the booklist that was given to us, at least not all at once, I'm waiting on the loans that they don't come until October! you know what I mean! so this information will really be helpful. Also will we need all our supplies for this 1172 class that starts on the 28th? does anyone know?

We should not need any supplies for the 28th, according to the information I have been given. Also, uniforms will not be needed until about 2 weeks after the start of August 25th classes.

As far as the books for the 1st semester, if you want, pm me your email address and I will send you a list of the books, I was told were needed for the first semester.
