What is the diff. in RN and BSN salary?

Both graduate with RN's, take the same NCLEX, and basically get similar educations in bedside nursing, so for the most part they start out the same.

Why get a BSN then? Well for moving beyond the bedside in teaching, research, management, drug reps, insurance companies, etc. etc. these are positions that are BSN preferred or BSN manadatory.

If you're going to the BSN, keep going for the BSN. You might find yourself like me 47 years old and wish I had it now.

I can't speak for the salaries in Texas however. Here BSN grads get about .75/hour more to start. But you can't just look at starting salaries.

Note that BSN vs. ADN has been discussed extensively hear and the mods don't allow further discussion. So do a search and see what comes up. However, if you stick to just asking about salaries that should be o.k.

Depends on the facility, but some do value education more and will pay more for BSN nurses. Look at it this way - time will pass anyway. You might as well be working towards a goal and have more options for your future.
