Weatherford is a great country town. My best friend lives in Weatherford as well as many other friends. And you are right about nursing schools there just are not enough teachers to handle the capacity of nursing students that apply. There is one advantage of doing the LVN to RN route and that is ,when I apply I am just competing with other LVN's. The lady at Weatherford college told me they had 37 LVN applicants last year. Not bad compared to the 800 or so that TCC had. I was offered 40/hour to go to a Bridgeport nursing home several years ago when the state came in and cleaned house. So yes you can make some money, even in the country. I have been a LVN now just over 5 years. I went to JPS in Ft Worth which I hear is now closed. I have worked agency alot but got tired of that being so unstabile so I went with a permanent job. Now I work at a large Alzheimers facility in SW Ft Worth, W/E only (32hours). However ,I live in Joshua which is about 30 miles south from my job. Well keep me posted on your decision and if you hear any other C/O or + things. I will be taking the net soon and applying this month to Weatherford. Good Luck to you.

My great aunt used to teach nursing. She still works sometimes even though shes in her mid 70s. She used to love teaching but you can make a lot more money nursing than teaching nursing students. One time the nursing home in the town called her because the owner knew her and wanted her to come in for like a day since they were really short handed and the next day the owner delivered a $500 dollar check to her. It was out of his own pocket as far as I know but I was in shock! My great aunt lives in Bridgeport. My whole family on my mom's side and dad's side including extended family members lives in wise county so they would be glad if I moved to Weatherford even though its a good thirty minutes from them. And I have really heard great things about Weatherford.
