I picked up my application about a month go lol but I havent filled it out yet bc I'm getting ready for finals. As far as the Hesi I'm scheduled to take it at the end of May, I am so nervous whose your advisor? Mine is Justin hes pretty cool Im meeting w/ him after grades post! Keep me up to date! Oh yeah some people are just going to be negative bc they took all of there classes at UTA and they don't think its right when you take classes else where, but whatever thats them!!! lol But I think that the grades get you the interview and then the interview lands a spot in the nursing program. B/c I know another girl that had a 4.0 science gpa she also took her sciences somewhere other than UTA and she got waitlisted eventually she got in like 2 weeks later bc there was an open spot so yeah!
It's a good idea to keep your options open! So are you not applying to UTA then since you just mentioned UT-Houston and UTMB? I thought you were! What sections are you going to be in for pharm and patho? I am taking patho section 2 (Wed 1-3:50). pharm in the summer.
I think it is crazy about people acting so negative if you took a course at a community college. I took like 90% of my pre-reqs at a cc, like you guys. My a&p class was extremely rigorous, but I still pulled of A's with hard work just like any class at a university.
I am sending in my application today! yay! I can't believe it's finally time! Now, we just have to wait a looong time lol. Also, I have a question...I didn't see anywhere on the application where we are supposed to write what our GPA's are. and my GPA's have changed since I met with my advisor. So, do they re-calculate them?
Good luck to you all on the HESI and thanks for any responses! | | Advertisement Sponsored Links | | | | No. 11 |

OMG I've heard a few people did not know about the Hesi deadline being June 1! thats crazy huh?

yah, that is crazy about the jun 1 deadline. I kept checking the website like every week, so I don't know how ppl could miss out on that. Maybe they were just busy or got confused with another school. Did they really change the deadline? I could have sworn it was always jun 1, right?
I am applying to just UTA and TWU. TWU was my top choice, but ever since I learned more about UTA, I am leaning towards UTA since they have the smart hospital and all. What is your top choice? I hope to have a pick, if not I will take either lol.

Re: UTA Spring 2010
question to anyone: im taking the hesi test this friday at UTA and as you all probably know there is only certain section taken (no sciences). the thing is i also wanted to apply for twu's nursing program and i know they also require you to take the hesi but with all section. will i be able to take the hesi test again for all section regardless of when i took the last one, bc i know there was a rule that you can only take the test like every 6 months?

Hi there ayeisha! I understand what you are asking since I was in the same boat as you and TWU doesnt need it till sept 1! I actually emailed David Craddock about a month ago; he is the head of support for HESI. This is what he told me: "You can only take the exam once, but your results will be sent automatically to the school that you list as your prospective school. You can then request that your results be sent to another school if you would like. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me." Then I called TWU, and they told me no as well. That is why I didnt sign up to take it at UTA since they only have those 4 sections on it, and not all of them. I registered through Prometric so I could just take it once and follow the 6 month rule and not take a risk on them saying no. I'm sorry, I wish I had something better to say! Good luck on your test on Fri! | | No. 16 |

Re: UTA Spring 2010
Hello all,
Looks like you guys are applying for spring 10. I am also on the same boat.I had wanted to go for fall 09 but applied only at one school, and so here I am trying for spring 10. I am now in Houston, and I have completed all my non-nursing prereqs ( A and P, micro etc etc) and such at local CC here. However, UTA needs nursing pre-reqs ( Concepts of professional Nursing, pathophysiology and Pharmacology) I have completed Pharm, but I dont know where to take the remaining two. My cc does not offer patho, so if any of you are from North Houston area, or houston, where did you guys take Patho and Concepts of Professional nursing?
also, for HESI- its only Math and Reading rite? There is no science section?

Hi there! Welcome! The HESI is math, reading, grammar, and vocab, learning styles, and behavioral apptitute (but the last two are just opinions about yourself). For concepts, patho, and pharm, you have to take them at UTA unless they are pre-approved by an advisor. Have you taken your test yet? I live in Dallas area so I can't help you on where to take them. sorry! Good luck!
