Me! We should figure out a way to get the UT-H allnurses community together to meet before classes start. Maybe during the indoc?

Me too!..Im excited to get started and meet everyone too. I think it would be great to meet both new and current students that are a year ahead. I think coinciding it with orientation would be easiest.

Where is everyone from? Ill be commuting from the Richmond/Rosenberg area (ugh!) but thats definitely a small price to pay

i live in the loop in upper kirby. it's shamefully close, but it will seem far to me, since it's much farther than my commute to hcc!

I live in the Copperfield area over by 290 and Hwy 6. I heard about the Metro Pass and how it's like $25 a semester..soo I think I'm going to get that and take the bus from the I-10 bus stop and take it to the train station and then take the train into the med center. I'm actually a little confused as to how I'm actually going to be getting to school haha. But yeah ya'll are lucky that you live fairly close. Can't wait to meet all of you!
P.S. Do ya'll know what we wear? hehe

don't worry too much about your math skills. you can always do remedial work and catch up. math is something you have to do all the time to stay fresh (if you're anything like me).

as far as grades, it is very competitive to get into a bsn program these days. many schools only look at courses that they require though, so if you got an F in basket weaving, not to worry. if you want to know about ut-h bsn program, or twu bsn program, you should really take a day and go visit both schools and speak to counselors there. they can address your specific concerns much better than anyone on this forum could. be sure to bring your transcripts, and good luck!

i keep getting this nagging feeling that there's something i should be doing to get ready, but i can't decide what it might be...

are we just supposed to wait until after orientation to buy books and scrubs and supplies? that seems so far off...

No, according to goddessue we can buy books now and scrubs now if we want or other stuff like stethescope, pen light..etc...

I know what you should do. I just filled out my residency questionaire and every student is supposed to fill this out but they didnt mention it anywhere in our packet. I found it by accident online and you need in-state residency verified so that you dont get charged out-of-state tuition.
Here is more info on it from Registrar's office...
http://registrar.uth.tmc.edu/Service...html#Residency
and here is the form link..
https://secureweb.hsc.uth.tmc.edu/ca.../residency.pdf

finish ur scholarship application/packet?
