UT Arlington

They do not have a LVN to BSN track , but that wouldnt stop you from going into the generic BSN program. The LVN to BSN track really is not all that different from the generic program anyway , just a few different classes in the beginining. However, if you did go to UTA you would be competing against all other appllicants, as other schools that do have LVN to BSN programs you just compete with LVN's. I have just applied to Tarleton State for there LVN to BSN and to Weatherford for the LVN to ADN. I really want to go to Tarleton, even though it is 50 miles from home. I was going to apply at TWU in Denton but, I noticed they removed the part about the LVN to BSN prgram from their website,and I could never get through on the phone, so I just let that go. The only person I know of that applied to UTA nursing didn't get in and she had a 4.0. She didn't have her grades in for a couple classes when she applied so that might have hurt her. She got in TCU though. I know another lady that hasn't applied but said she has several friends that applied and none got in. I don't know how their grade were though.

It seems around here you have to have all your classes completed (grades in) before applying even though you have to apply six month before you will start the program if excepted. That means you will be just waiting around for 6 months (defaulting on you loans).

I forgot to say that half the students in my Micro class last semester applied to one or more nursing schools in the area (ADN & BSN) and only one got in. She got into the college in Weatherford with a 4.0

Well, I was going to post this earlier, but backed out (did not want to step on anyones toes) BUT you leave me no choice Remember, we are funny creatures and we are all trying to get into nursing school, or have tried to get in at some point. Some people are just plain nasty and want to make it seem like it is impossible. Maybe they don't have the grades, maybe they applied and did not get in. Stress, pressure, bad information, and fear are the reasons for the negativity. All you can do is get the best grades that you can, finish all of your pre-wrecks, pre-testing, and apply. The problem being that when you have the "perfect students" as you say, that are trying to get into the same nursing program as you, they win due to the points given on GPA. No getting around it. Maybe take one or two classes over for an A, it could make the difference. If you want it bad enough you will make it happen. Don't be discouraged, apply everywhere give it what you have, nothing less, and I am sure something will work out for you.

Hi! I know this is an old post, but I wanted to add in some more info about getting into UT Arlington. I'm a 2005 grad and lemme tell you, I didn't have a perfect GPA and I was accepted the first time I applied. What they are looking for, in addition to GPA, is someone who is well rounded and can handle stress. My GPA wasn't horrible (3.5), but it wasn't near as good as everyone else's. (However, my GPA for my science classes alone was 3.9- they look at those classes the most.) I know for a fact what got me in was my interview and my essay. So, it's always worth a shot! Apply, because you never know what could happen!

Now I'm wondering how I'll do when the time comes. Mind you I still have about a year of prerequisites.

Ok I have a question . Does UTA require all the pre- classes be complete prior to entry into the nursing program.
