About the Dallas campus, I was informed by someone that they didnt get in with a 3.81 and a 61 NET. However their friend got in with a 3.71 GPA since his/her NET was a 92. So the GPA and HESI have to balance out. There is more to it than just GPA.

Yes, I think that is right. That is what I was told by my advisor. The GPA is super important, but the HESI scores definitely factor in as well. I was told that the HESI counts for more than the NET used to, but he wouldn't tell me the EXACT breakdown for how they weight the GPA vs. HESI scores. But a good HESI score should definitely help balance out a lower GPA. (So ridiculous that a 3.7 is considered LOW in this process...) Anyhoo, I was told about 6 weeks ago that a 3.8 plus a HESI score of 85 or better should get you in to the Dallas program at TWU. It is also true that there are more spots in Houston (110 vs. 80 I believe), so it is somewhat easier to get into the Houston program.

I really like how they tell everyone something different! It is so annoying! How hard is it to agree on telling everyone the same thing??

I hardly studied for the NET, but for the HESI, I did for about 3 weeks and really researched it. Some people do really well on it and others don't. Don't know why that is??
Hmm...that is interesting. I thought the NET was supposed to be easier than the HESI. Is there a separate study guide for the NET and HESI? I got the NET study guide since it's coming up faster for me.

Also, I just wanted to get an idea of who is applying for the Houston campus versus the Dallas campus. It seems that I'm all alone so far for Houston unless I was reading too quickly.

I just thought the HESI was easier since the reading on the NET was timed. I am for the Dallas campus. It's probably too early for a lot of peple to be on threads, so many more im sure will join. There is a separate study guide for the NET made my the people who write the NET. I only found in helpful for reviewing math and grammar. But not for anything else, especialy the reading. HESI makes their own guide by elsevier.

Has anyone used the Elsevier study guide for the Hesi? I bought it and it arrived on Friday, haven't taken a look at it yet since I have been busy taking Micro. It will probably wait until the week before I take the test at the rate I'm going. What a procrastinator I am. Oh well, I studied like that for the NET and made an 85.

I am applying to both, but Dallas is the one I would prefer (already live there!). For those of you that have applied before...is there a way on the application to say that one campus is preferred over another campus?

I was told by an advisor that you indicate on the application which campus you are applying for, and that you can apply to both. That way, if you do not get one of the Dallas spots, you will still be in line for a spot in Houston.

Are there two separate applications for either UT Houston or TWU? (application to the university and application for the nursing school) I thought there was, but it doesn't seem like it...
