TWU Dallas, hwo do they pcik 'em?

I am currently enrolled at TWU Denton, hopeing to be accepted into the nursing program. I have a few questions for anyone recently accepted and any advice on what I should do.

I am wondering how they look at everyone who applied and how they choose to accept or not to accept. I know overall GPA needs to be at least 3.7 or above to be competative (advisor told me this) but do they look at the individual sciences GPA? I have a "C" in API and am finishing up with hopefully a "B" in APII. I still have micro and chemistry to go. I am wondering though if I should plan on retaking API and APII before I even apply?

Also, how many students are accepted each semester?

thanks

if you take 32 hours at twu, you will get the .4 added to your gpa for admission purposes. retake your C and try to get as many A's as you can. you need at least a 60 on the reading portion of the net to be competitive. they are looking at your overall prereq gpa, not science . so if you have if you have a 3.7 with out the .4 thats great because with it you will have a 4.1 and thats prettty good lol =) but some 4.0s dont get in. but thats what you need to do. try to make at least all the As especially in your sciences.

Prettladie the net is no longer used. You will have to take the hesi now. Like she stated any science classes u have a C in u should retake them. Dallas campus is hard to get into since a lot of people with the .4 advantage apply there. Usually the cutoff for dallas is like a 3.8 houston campus is usually lower uf u are ok with moving there

thanks ladies!! I took my AP classes at NCTC and am thinking of not even transferring the credits over to TWU and just retaking them there. I will receive the .4 credit so I know I have that to help and I have made mostly A's in my prereqs, some B's and a few classes that I will clep out of.

I have a family and own a home in Denton, so relocating is pretty much out of the question and TWU is about my only option for a BSN, since commuting anywhere else will just be murder on me.

I know of a few other options to receive my RN and if anyone else has info please do share.

Thanks again your advice is much appreciate!!

yess i knew that they dont use the NET anymore.. i dont know why i wrote the NET down prob beacuse i just applied and that requirement changed right after. yes its the HESI but its not hard. ive taken that too.. no commute is available for you? i know there is UTA, TCU, EL Centro, Northlake, Mountain View, Brookhaven, NCTC, you can get your RN through those, just depends on whether or not you want a BSN or an Associate.
