That's good to know about the LVN-RN program. I have a few friends who are thinking about doing that...
Some schools consider things like test scores and interviews. What I liked about El Centro is that they only use pre-req GPA to rank candidates (if there is a tie, then they use co-req hours and then co-req GPA if there is still a tie). Granted, you have to make a minimum score on the NET test, but beyond that, a better score does not help you.
While I believe in my interview skills, it is a bit unsettling to know that the rest of my life can change if an entrance committee doesn't like the color of my shirt! (Yes, I hope they aren't that tacky, but I have seen people denied jobs for less...) I was glad to find a school where my acceptance was based on something I have the most control over -- my grades.
