Texas LVN Licensure?

Hi, all!

I graduated from a California LVN school on October 14 and am moving to Fort Worth within a couple of weeks. I am currently studying on a daily basis to take the NCLEX; however, the licensure process in California takes forever. I probably won't hear anything from the California state BON until mid December.

I am asking for licensure advice. Should I just wait to take the NCLEX in California and have Texas endorse the California license? Or should I apply for initial licensure in Texas since I am going to live there anyway?

In addition, how quickly could I take the NCLEX in Texas if I were to get the paperwork started today? Is the licensure process in Texas faster than the snail's pace processing that seems to occur in California?
