Texas Health Resources NEW ATTENDANCE POLICY

by DFWTXRN

THR just changed their attendance policy. You have to clock in no later than 630. No grace period. Used to have 7 minutes.

After 3 tardies, or call ins, or whatever, they start the discipline process.

You get 3 in three months. Much more strict. Not needed.

Nurses looking to come to any of the THR facilities be warned.

Also they make our prescription plan report all of our prescriptions to the EAP. Employee assistance plan.

Violation of Privacy?

I think that this may be a violation of EEOC, HIPAA, ADA, ERISA. I would file discrimination complaints with EEOC.

Im just glad that nurses finally have a voice through this forum. Otherwise a nurse would never know until it's too late.

Youd be suprised that a very small percentage of nurses even know that the EAP gets a list of their meds.

I think one nurse has reported to Civil Rights/HIPAA.

Not good huh?

THR's hospitals sound like they're getting increasingly "anti" nurse! What you describe is definitely a breach of HIPPA. And just why in the hell does the EAP need to know every medication you take?? WTH is that about?

After 3 days of clocking in no later than 0630/1830? Shooooot...over half our staff would be gone. Utterly ridiculous, and in reality, downright stupid. Anyone who's spent any time in north Texas traffic can attest to the fact that some days you actually CAN go 26 miles in 30 minutes, somedays it takes you an hour and a half to go less than 5.
This just goes to show how ignorant hospital administrators truly are. Give me a break.

I have been working for THR for over a year now and I am now at Harris Southwest. I haven't heard anything about them taking away the 6 min. window. I hope they don't or else most of the employees hear are going to be w/o a job. Alot of people rely on that 6 min rule.

Was told that it went into effect THR wide in February. It was presented in a meeting by HR to all of the nurses in my area.

With the nursing shortage booming, you would thinkg places would be a little more nurse friendly.

Gotta love it..........

You would think... THR owns a huge portion of the hospitals in the area. Maybe thats the problem? I guess the others are Methodist, Baylor, and the HCAs.
