temp jobs in Houston?

Hello everyone

After being down here for almost a month, sad to say I still cant find a job!
In another post someone mentioned that they only want new grads in Jan and June..ok..I'm beginning to think this is true..

But here is my question. Does anyone know of anything I can do in the meantime to keep myself occupied, my skills up, and make some extra cash?
I was thinking maybe helping out at clinics or with flu shots but I dont know where to start looking into that.

I have 2 applications in for internships at Texas Childrens and Herman Mem. Childrens and am hoping to hear from one of them come december to start the Jan. Internship- I really just need something until then! I have tried to get ahead and spoke with the recruiters for both hospitals already (one on the phone, and one through email) to let them know how interested I am in working at their hospital for the internship come January.

I have 3 months experience as a RN, and have worked for 2 years previous that as a nurses aide. The 3 months kind of kills doing a temp assignment with an agency as they all want at least 1 year experience..

I would really appreciate any ideas! Im driving myself crazy not having work!
