TCC Accuplacer test

by smvtx23

Hello!
Has anyone taken the TCC Accuplacer test for the College Algebra portion? I am going to be taking it soon to test out of Math 0350. I was just curious if there were any questions on linear equations. I did not see any on the test prep preview but wanted to double check. Thanks!

I took mine in March at NW campus, from what I remember there were alot of "solve for x and y" Algebra questions, a couple linear and like 4 or 5 graph problems, solving for slope, and points. I can't remember everything else that was on it, but if you've reviewed, you should do ok. I've been out of school 17 years, and reviewed for a week and tested out of math. Just remember to plug your answers back in to make sure it equals out. I was able to solve some college Algebra and higher math questions just by plugging in the answers to the equation.

I have been graduated for 15 years and studied for a week and passed the algebra accuplacer. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a breeze, I just went over positive and negative numbers and an old intermediate algebra book briefly. My math genius hubby helped explain it to me. I barely passed, but I don't have to take any developmental courses wasting more time and I was tickled pink. There are a few websites you can go to for math a couple of them are accuplacer.com and I think there's one called hunnington. I would have to google hunnington and accuplacer together to find it. The college told me about the websites. I think there's also a book at the bookstore that is a study guide. Keep in mind that the algebra was the last subject on my accuplacer. That may change at random but I was kinda fried by the end of it. Good luck!!

I took the math accuplacer at South campus about a week ago and made a 61 on the Elem. Algebra and a 110 on the arithmatic. Since a passing score for elem algebra is 63, I took it again this morning. I made a 75 this time on the Elem Algebra. But this time the next section was College Math with all these weird questions I'd never seen before, Triganometry stuff. I guessed on all of those and made a 20.
So my question - since I passed the Elem Algebra section, I dont have to take Math0350, right? Does it matter that I didnt pass the College Math section?

TCC has 3 levels of remedial math that you must pass before you are allowed to enroll in college algebra. These are Prealgebra (arithmetic), Elementary Algebra, and Intermediate Algebra. Since you passed the Elementary Algebra test and failed the College Algebra test, my best guess is that they would place you in Intermediate Algebra.

According to the Nursing Department, you only have to pass the elementary algebra portion of the Accuplacer to meet requirements of the nursing program.

Are your accuplacer results showing up on your Degree Audit?

Mine are not, but when I go to WebAdvisor and check test results it is there.
