As far as camp success goes. You will not need anything other than a notebook to take notes in. You will get a spiral book with lots of great information. TNSA will be selling the skills packs and lots of goodies that will come in handy. You have to have the skills pack for skills class. Afterwards you will get a tour of the nursing building and then you can ask questions. I cant wait to see all the new faces at camp success. It is so hard to believe that I was in your shoes in June and now I am just 2 short weeks away from having a full semester for nursing school down. You can do it and it is so worth it.

Dollar Re: Tarrant County Acceptance Letter
I have been getting my books off of Amazon, but be careful. Use the ISBN # if possible because sometimes you can end up getting the teacher edition which usually won't be bought back or you may end up with just the workbook instead of the actual text. You can save a lot of money if you're an educated shopper.
I have to say I am worried about being able to afford this myself. I somehow need to come up with $750 for the rest of my vaccinations, doctor apt., amazon books, and new scrubs. Thank god I have a grant that pays for the classes! As for the rest of it... say a prayer that the school loan I applied for goes through because the banks have already said no.
One way or the other, I consider myself so blessed to have been accepted, so i am sure the rest will all fall into place.
See you at Camp Success and good luck finding discount books!!

Be careful about buying your books online. Most of the books you need for the program need the online codes with the books for testing, videos, lessons, and more. Some people bought the books online only to have to pay for the online codes and spent more money than they would have if they bought it in the book store.

Thanks for all of the great info! I will start looking online but be aware that I need the codes. I may just end up buying them on campus. I hear ya on being tight on money. I will be quitting my full time job and counting on my husband for the next two years. I was hoping to go into school with less debt and bills but oh well. I am just thankful to get in. As far as the shots go, I started volunteering at Parkland hospital so they took care of all of that thankfully. I am asking for my scrubs for Christmas so that will help out a ton. Money will be tight for sure but hopefully once schools starts I can get a small part time job to bring some money in. Everything will work out! It always does.

You shouldn't need too much $$ for the vaccs. I got mine at Tarrant Co Health Dept, for less than $50. I never stepped foot in a Drs office. Look on the bulletin boards in the nursing bldg, former semesters may be wanting to sell their books, although, most like to keep. Worth a try though.
