Status of my case??

Here's one for whomever is familiar with the TBNE: I was reported to the board for something I was innocent of and I responded to the board's letter for a response with a clear, comprehensive letter explaining as such.
About 2 months later, I recieved a letter back from the board stating " the investigation regarding your violation of the nursing practice act remains open....we will periodically notify you of the status of your case."
What does that mean?
