San Antonio area LVN RN bridge programs

Hi, I am soon going to be finishing up on my pre-reqs for the LVN->RN bridge but I am confused as to how time consuming these programs are in San Antonio. I am originally from the RGV and the LVN RN bridge programs there are somewhere around 3 days a week and no where near an all day thing. After a close look at the programs here in San Antonio I have come to the conclusion that the average semester is 8 credit hours. When asking some others about the local programs they claim they are 5 days a week and all day long semesters. I fail to realize how I am somehow going to school twice a week from 8 to 3 with 13 hours but 8 hour semesters are somehow stretched to 5 days a week. I work full time and assume most nurses that take advantage of these programs do as well, any input on how they do this? How long the days are in the program you have experience with? How many days a week etc? I realize that some of these answers will be program specific but since I have not been sold on a particular program, I would enjoy everyone's input. Thank you so much -- Robert

I don't live anywhere near San Antonio, but the bridge program that I attend requires a commitment of 3 days per week (2 days of classroom theory and 1 clinical shift).

I attend classroom theory on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1pm to 5pm. The school offers its students a choice of a clinical day. We can choose either Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, and our clinical shifts are 8 hours per week. I selected Wednesday clinical rotations so that my school week can be as compressed as possible, because I attend a school that is located far from where I live.

In a nutshell, I'm basically in school every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. My school also offers a night program.

Thanks for that information that was very helpful! 3 days sounds like what I would expect a bridge program to be like. What program is this by the way? Any others have some input?

It's in Oklahoma City, so I am certain you would not be interested in attending.

What is the name of your school? I would be willing to relocate for a program.
