San Angelo

Does anybody out there know about San Angelo hospitals? Working conditions, wages, etc.?
I am interested in getting back to West Texas when I graduate in December.

Muchas gracias.

Originally from El Paso. Not really wanting to get that far west. Have spent time in the Permian Basin. That's home for me.

I used to live in San Angelo, left there about 2 months ago.

I'm an LVN, graduated in San Angelo and worked at San Angelo Community Medical Center. I started there last year in July and they paid about $11/hr for new graduate LVNs and $16 or $17/hour for new graduate RNs.

The other hospital in town, Shannon Medical Center, paid about the same.

Both nursing schools in San Angelo (Howard College for LVNs and Angelo State University for RNs) usually have their graduations in May, so both hospitals start their graduate nurse program in May or June.
My orientation was great, he had about 4 weeks of classes and then another 2 months on the unit.

I am in Lubbock so San Angelo isnt far from me. The pay is better in Lubbock. I have been told they start RN's at $23 an hour but have no idea for LVN. I have not started school yet. I start in the Fall.
