This is inaccurate for the San Antonio area. New RNs typically start at between $18 and $20 hourly, which adds up to about $40,000 per year.
The pay rates tend to be low in SA due to the number of nursing schools in the area. More nursing schools leads to plenty of new nurses being churned into the job market every few months. In turn, an oversupply of nurses in the local job market results in depressed pay rates.
