RN agency in Houston please

Hey guys! I am moving to the Houston area in april and was hoping to get some recommendations on good nursing agencies in the area. Specifically ones that staff the larger hospitals (St lukes, Herrman, Methodist, etc.) Thanks for any and all input!!

Is it better to go through a nursing agency rather than applying directly to the hospital? I'm relocating to Houston at the end of the month and applied to Children's. When I called them they said it will take about 2 months for them to go through their apps before they will begin interviewing. That seems like a long time to me!

I start school in june of this year and can't get a staff job. (Imagine the interview where I say " I would love to work long enough to maybe just finish my probationary period, then boogie on outta here like the building's on fire..." Agency work for me is the answer, no firm time obligation and I can continue sporadic employment as the course load allows.
